Goddess Bagalamukhi is the eighth Mahavidhya out of ten Mahavidhyas. She is the Goddess of immense power & is worshipped to attain victory over enemies, arguments etc. A person who worships her gets relief from all sorts of problems in life. The word “Bagala” has been derived from the Sanskrit word, Valga which means ‘bridle’. The headgear used to control a horse is known as a bridle. Hence Bagalamukhi means the Goddess who has the power to control and paralyze the enemies. Due to her capturing and paralyzing powers, She is also known as the Goddess of restrain. Once a huge storm erupted over the earth which threatened to destroy the whole of the creation, all the Gods assembled in the Saurashtra region and prayed to the Goddess.
When appeased by the prayers of the Gods, Goddess Bagalamukhi emerged from the Haridra Sarovara and calmed down the storm.
Goddess Bagalamukhi relieves a person from the enemies and negative energies. Goddess Bagalamukhi is also known as Pitambara. Yellow-coloured materials are used for her puja as she is fond of yellow color.
Goddess Bagalamukhi has a yellow complexion like gold and thus a person should wear yellowcolored clothes while worshipping Her. Goddess Bagalamukhi can be seen riding a beautiful chariot embedded with gemstones.
The devotees of the goddess is able to defeat all their enemies and become successful in every field. She can be easily pleased by offering yellow flowers and coconut to her. Lamps should be lit in front of the idol of the goddess kept on a heap of turmeric. Reciting goddess Bagalamukhi’s Mantras and offering yellow clothes to the goddess relieves a person from all kinds of obstacles and sufferings.
Recitation of Bagalamukhi Mantra is believed to have miraculous powers. Bagalamukhi Mantra is known to ensure victory over enemies. Bagalamukhi Mantra is specially suggested for people in administration and management cadres, politicians, those facing debts or litigation problems, etc. Bagalamukhi Mantra can be used by a person who is facing losses in business, financial problems, false court cases, false accusations, debt problems, obstacles in profession, etc. Bagalamukhi Mantra is effective for those appearing for competitive exams, debates, etc. Bagalamukhi Mantra also helps in warding off evil spirits and evil eye.
Bagalamukhi is also called Pitambaradevi or Brahmastra Roopini and she turns each thing into its opposite. She turns speech into silence, knowledge into ignorance, power into impotence, and defeat into victory.
She represents the knowledge whereby each thing must in time become its opposite. As the still point between dualities, she allows us to master them. To see the failure hidden in success, the death hidden in life, or the joy hidden in sorrow are ways of contacting her reality. Bagalamukhi is the secret presence of the opposite wherein each thing is dissolved back into the Unborn and the Uncreated.
