Lord Kuber is the treasurer of Gods and always carries a bag filled with gold coins. Even today, miners pray to Kuber before beginning any project as he had discovered the process of gold mining. Lord Kuber is often depicted with a mongoose in his hand. This is no ordinary mongoose and is made of gold. It is said to spit out precious gems whenever it opens its mouth. He is the King of Yakshas which He attained after praying to Lord Shiva for many years. Kuber is one of the Lokapalas, meaning ‘guardians of directions’, and is said to be the guardian of North. After Ravana banished Kuber from Lanka,
Lord Vishwakarma built the kingdom of Alakapuri on Mount Kailash so that Kuber can stay there and fulfil his duty of being a Lokapala. Lord Vishnu, reborn on earth as Lord Srinivasa, borrowed money from Kuber to manage the expenses of his marriage with Lakshmi (reborn as Princess Padmavati) and provide proof of his wealth. It is believed that all the donations made by devotees to Lord Srinivasa of Tirupati contribute in paying for interest on the loan to Kuber.
Goddess Lakshmi needs no great introduction. She is a well-known Goddess and is worshipped in several other countries apart from India. She is primarily associated with wealth but that is not her entirety. She is much more than that. She is the one who can grant good health, good life partner, peace and harmony at home, prosperity in life, name, fame, success and what not. Worshipping Her to just obtain wealth is just like going to sea shore and collecting shells whereas one can attain several precious pearls, corals etc., from it.
Lord Ganesha is the Lord of good things. He is the first God to be worshipped and is the one who can grant success in anything we do. Due to this reason, there is a compulsory ritual of worshipping Lord Ganesha prior to starting any pious ritual. A successful sadhak of Lord Ganapati doesn’t face any problem in life; let it be hurdles from daily routine jobs or from most ferocious enemies. He is a quick appeasing God who can provide all sorts of blessings in life.
