Medhaa – A word denoting intelligence, wisdom and perfect acumen. Generally we relate intelligence only with studies, But it is a fact that to be successful in any field it is necessary to be quick in one’s thinking and resourceful when it comes to generating new plans and ideas.
Saraswati the Goddess of learning is called Medhaa in the ancient text and in Jain Iiterature. Still there is a bit of difference in Saraswati Sadhana and Medha Sadhana. The former only brings gain of knowledge while the latter also makes one perfect and practical in every day life.
A person who has perfected Medha Sadhana need not be expert in Vedic knowledge or knowledge of the scriptures but he sure shall be able to excel in the field that he has chosen in his life. Medha Sadhana is a Sadhana that bestows intelligence, presence of mind, ability to make successful plans in second and achieve the desired success in them.
One might be a chartered accountant, engineer, doctor, politician, high ranking officer, teacher, journalist or in any other vocation this Sadhana comes as a boon and helps one develop and hone the skills tha could make one unparalleled in one’s field. For student desirous of good results in competitions too this Sadhana comes as a divine gift. It can help develop greater perspective, deep insight and power of concentration and the capability of working hard for hours without tiring out.
This amazing sadhana can be tried on any Thursday early in the morning. Rise early and have a bath. Wear pure white clothes and sit facing the east on a white mat. In a copper plate draw an eight petalled lotus with vermilion. Then take eight Gomati Chakras and place one in each of the petals of the lotus. Offer vermilion, rice grains, Any Thurday flowers petals on each chakra. Then light a ghee lamp.
In the center of the lotus place a Medhaa Yantra. Then offer prayers to the Guru and chant one round of Guru Mantra. Then take water in the right palm and pledge thus – I (Speak your name) am accomplishing this Medha Sadhana for success in this (name your field) sphere. May Goddess Saraswati bestow success upon me.
Let the water flow to the floor. Then with a Kamalagatta rosary chant 21 rounds of the following Mantra.
After the completion of the Sadhana drop all the articles in a river or pond.
