Chhinnamasta Jayanti: 6th May
Even in today’s world it is possible to teleport from one place to another, get the capability of Vaaksiddhi (whatever a person says become true) and getting invisible. All this is true by the means of Chhinnamasta Sadhana.
This sadhana is both secret and difficult, thus one must perform it with full diligence as well as devotion. Incarnation of this form of Goddess has a special mention in the Purans. It is mentioned in Purans that once Goddess Parvati went to bath with her friends Jaya and Vijaya. Soon, both Jaya and Vijaya felt very hungry but didn’t find anything to eat on the way.
Thus they pleaded to the Goddess, “We are feeling very hungry and we can’t find anything to eat.”
Goddess Parvati replied, “Even I don’t find any eatables around to satisfy your hunger.”
Listening to these words, they replied, “What sort of mother are you? One who feeds the three Lokas, She is saying there is nothing can do to satisfy our hunger. What sort of feeder you are?
Listening to these taunts, the Goddess took out sword and beheaded Herself. Three streams of blood erupted from Mother’s neck; first one went into Jaya’s mouth, second one went into Vijaya’s mouth and the third one went into Mother Goddess’ mouth. This stream of blood satisfied the hunger of Vijaya and Jaya. Thus, in this way, a new form of Mother Goddess emerged. Being beheaded, She is named Chhinnamasta, and is a fearsome form of the Goddess Parvati.
Being fearsome, She is able to demolish all the enemies. Any sadhak who is able to appease this form Goddess easily gets victory over all the enemies. Not only this, a person gets power to move from one planet to another. Chhinnamasta sadhana can transform even a simple householder into a great yogi because a person’s spiritual powers gets activated after successfully performing this sadhana.
