The more one is surrounded by thoughts, the more unable and incapable he is to think through. The rush of thoughts eventually distracts the mind. Madness is nothing but a chaotic crowd of thoughts! Perhaps, this explains the reason for the fact that the more thoughts grow in the world, the more madness concentrates within its roots. The covering of thoughts envelops the power of thought and destroys it. The spontaneous idea burdens the purity of basic thoughts. One confuses the mere thoughts with the actual power of thoughts. This confusion to consider the mere collection of thoughts is the power of thoughts s akin to someone confusing the appearance of mere clouds in the sky during the rainy season as the actual sky itself.
However, such mistakes in confusing capability of thoughts with the collection of thoughts have been repeatedly occurring throughout the ages. This is one of the basic misconceptions about human ignorance. The collection of thoughts is not proof of the power of the thoughts. The absence of contrasting power of thoughts is generally replaced by filling up mere thoughts like this. The mere collection of ideas starts giving the illusion of deep thinking, without activating the dormant thoughts.
There is no easier way to fulfill the ego of knowledge than this ignorant process. The more one feels the emptiness of thoughts, the more he tries to hide these facts with other random thoughts. It is very difficult to revive a dormant idea, but it is very easy to join up the ideas together since these thoughts are always floating around us. It is not a difficult task to collect shells by the sea-shore. Similarly, it is very easy to collect the thoughts together. The thoughts are a reflection of the power, while the ideas are always foreign to us. One has to discover the power of thoughts by itself, and these thoughts have to be exited only by self. One task requires introversion while the other task requires passing through extroversion. Therefore I have stated earlier, that both journeys contrast each other, in fact, they run counter to each other. One who treads on one of these paths, cannot take up the second path.
Anyone who is engulfed within this mad rush to collect thoughts has to note that he is getting distant from the power of thoughts of the self. The race to collect thoughts is similar to the mad rush to collect money. The money collected is tangible money collection while thought collection is intangible money collection. You should always note that all races to collect symbolize inner poverty. The experience of inner poverty leads to the search for external wealth. And this initiates the basic mistake. If the first steps tread in the wrong direction, then there is no question of getting the destination right. Poverty is within and the search for riches is outside in the external world! This inconsistency destroys all life in meaningless confusion. If you are poor within, then you have to find the riches which lie within your own self.
Whatever I am saying, is it not as clear as two and two make four? Do you want wealth or do you want to appear wealthy? Do you want enlightenment or do you want to appear enlightened? All collections of misconceptions are ways to mislead others. However, this illusion itself is also within. If ignorance is internal, then the knowledge that is internally generated can terminate this ignorance.
This collection of ideas is not knowledge, it is merely the memory. However, we consider this training of memory as the knowledge itself. The thoughts get stored in the treasury of memory. They become the answers after sensing the questions from outside, and we start considering this to be the thought itself. But how can thought be related to memory? Memory is the past, a dead collection of past experiences. Where is the solution to the living active problem within that? Life’s problems are always new, and the reflections of memory surrounding the mind are always the past.
This is why life becomes a hotbed of confusion because old solutions are completely unable to solve new problems. The mind becomes the habitat of worries, as problems grow one after the other while solutions develop on the opposite side. They do not associate between themselves, and there is no relationship between the twain. Such a mind gets old and its contact with life gets decayed. It is only natural that people find themselves old before the body becomes old and die before they die.
To search for the truth, to seek the reality of mysteries of life, one needs a young mind, a mind that never gets old. The mind loses its spontaneity, freshness, and thought-power, everything, as soon as it bonds with the past. Then it starts to dwell within the dead memories and all doors to a living life get shut. The mind should never get tied to the so-called knowledge of memory from memory, only then it realizes its potential of pureness and fair thoughts.
To see from memory means to see the present through the perspective of the past. How can the present be seen as such? The eyes should be completely empty to view the present. To see properly, the eyes should be completely empty. The mind develops the power for perfect vision, after being liberated from the shackles of memory, and the perfect vision leads to righteous philosophy-knowledge. If the vision is clean and fair, then the inner power of latent knowledge starts to awaken. As soon as it attains freedom from the burden of memory, the vision begins to tread in the present. Liberated from death, he enters real life.
It is necessary to keep the number of thoughts to as minimum as possible, for the awakening of thought-power. Memory should not be a burden. The problems that arise in life should not be seen through memory, rather, we should view them from a direct and current-day perspective. We should stop the instinct to look for solutions in the scriptures. One has to dive deep within the problem to identify a possible solution, even though the problem may be of any level – high or low. A solution cannot be imposed citing a particular principle or philosophy, in fact, this leads to deeper confusion.
Thus, the solution to a problem is always hidden within the problem. We can definitely identify the solution if we seek it within the problem with a calm and impartial mind. The power of thoughts starts awakening in absence of other thoughts. As long as there is an instinct to work with other kinds of thoughts, there is no need to awaken one’s own power of thoughts. As soon as you leave the crutches of thoughts, we are left with no other option, but to attain self-reliance on our power of thought. A single step forwards leads to success.
Get liberation from thoughts, and experience the new scenario. What do you feel? You will notice a novel power awakening from your own self. you. Innovative and unfamiliar energy is emerging. Like a blind has spontaneously sprouted a new eye, or a lamp has been lit in a dark room. Activation of the power of thoughts fills the inner self with bright light.. The emergence of the power of thought bestows a new set of eyes to life. This divine light leads to divine joy. The new eyes pave a clear path. The life which was sad with the crowd of thoughts fills with a piece of divine music in the bright light of the power of thoughts.
With divine blessings,
