For all the normal human beings, the season of spring is going to start from February.
However, for all the beloved disciples of Gurudev, the spring season will start right away from this very day. For a disciple, there is no festival, no occasion, no achievement that is greater than the festivals related to his Guru. And the reason behind this is for a true disciple, Guru is everything in life. The same can be captured from this very hymn from our ancient text.
Twameva Mata Cha Pita Twameva,
Twameva Bandhuscha Sakha Twameva,
Twameva Vidhya Dravinam Twameva,
Twameva Sarvam Mam Deva Deva.
There is no difference between a true disciple and a Guru as a true disciple completely amalgamate oneself in Guru. As Guru Gorakhnath once said, Ghat Ghat Gorakh, Ghat Ghat Meen i.e. both Guru GorakhNath and His Guru Matsyendra-Nath are not separate. Wherever the disciple is, the Guru remains with him. The Guru never came from anywhere, what happened is that the disciple started to recognise Him by placing Him in his heart, by learning the art of listening to Him and by learning art of telling one’s thoughts silently to Him. This is nothing else but love!
Neither the disciple nor Guru will disappear as they coexist. How can a Guru remain far from His disciple, He never claimed His identity, He never claimed that I am something without my disciples. This is the specialty of Meen or Gurudev. There is no significance of talks, there is no need to go anywhere because,
Jiske Piv Pardesh Basat Hain,
Likh Likh Bheje Pati,
Mere Piva More Hiya Basat Hain,
Main Kahi Aati Na Jati,
i.e. those people sends letter to their lover whose lover stays away from them, however I
don’t send any letters because my lover resides in my heart.
Once Guru Nanak Dev Ji was on His journey along with His disciples and decided to take a rest. A Sufi saint was residing very near to their halt location. The disciples of both thought that it would be great if their Gurus talk with each other so that they will learn about something greatby means their discussions. Both the parties tried their best and a meeting was arranged between the two Gurus. However, when the Gurus sat in front of each other, they just kept on looking at each other with a divine smile on their face. After about an hour, Guru Nanak Dev Ji said, “How beautiful thoughts you have shared with me.” The Sufi saint replied, “Your explanations were also great.”
Great saints communicate like this only. They don’t speak anything, yet they teach a lot.
Gurudev too doesn’t speak out so much, but what He tells us is crisp and clear and goes direct into our heart. Instead of advertising Himself, He has tried to get deeper into the hearts of His disciple to make us understand that you are Gorakh and I am your MatsyendraNath.
Gurudev have put a lot of efforts for His disciples. He has nurtured all of us like a flower
and have irrigated us with His sweat. He has given us a unique blend of both softness as well as courage so that we can offer our love to the needy ones and can stand tall in front of all the evils of the society.
Gagan Mandal Me Aundha Kuan,
Tahan Amrit Ka Basa.
Sagura Hosi So Bhar-Bhar Piya,
Nigura Jaaye Piyaasaa.
i.e. there is a well of elixir in this body (the sahastra chakra) and the one who has a Guru drinks this nectar without any bounds. However a person who doesn’t have a Guru remains thirsty and deprived of this elixir.
When a disciple is able to completely amalgamate Guru in oneself, his body starts to emit the same fragrance as being emitted by the Guru’s body and the joy of disciple is that when the Guru walks, the disciple walks; when the Guru speaks, the disciple speaks; when the laughs, the disciple laughs; eating-drinking, siting and roaming around all starts to happen with Guru. The disciple starts enjoying decomposing one’s smaller existence and become a part of that greater existence called Guru.
And a true disciple knows that even the Guru wishes to meet all His loving disciples on this great day so that He can bestow His love, His affection on His disciples and provide all that they seek in life. The incarnation day of Guru is not any normal festival as on this day, the Guru came on this planet just for His disciple. He took a birth as a human being and went through all the troublesome process defined by the society just for us, He took all these pains and suffering just for us, He took all our troubles and problems with a smile on His face just for us.
Thus it is our obligation towards our Guru to come and meet Him on this great day and offer our reverence in His holy feet. It is our duty towards our Guru to attain something worthy in life, to become someone great so that He feels proud of us, to bring a smile on His face and to celebrate this day with love, with joy, with sacredness and by enjoying this day.
To become divine, all one needs is to let the Guru enter into one’s heart for all this to happen. And then emerges a lotus from all the dirt and swamp that exists in our heart that fills our heart with fragrance. The seed in itself is willing to enter into the swamp of our heart and grow into a lotus plant. It is our obligation, it is our duty to let the seed enter into our heart and let it germinate there and then proudly say aloud, Ghat Ghat Gorakh, Ghat Ghat Meen.
And to let the lotus seed enter into your heart, there is no better day than the birthday of the Guru. The Guru is complete in every terms and that is the only mean by which we too can become complete in each and every aspect of life. This can be achieved only by imbibing Him in our heart. The question here is are you ready for this grand transformation on this day?
This is an invitation from Gurudev to all His beloved disciples on this day
