Pitra Paksha : 1st Sept – 17th Sept
All humans are indebted towards their ancestors, Gods and society. Success in Sadhana, happiness in life, and attaining one’s goals an only be possible after paying off these debts.
Many times in our life, we are not unable to attain happiness in our lives, we are unable to attain the success, we are unable to obtain favorable outcomes that we deserve in our lives, we are unable to fulfill our dreams even after putting our best Efforts. One needs to analyze why such a situation comes before us. For this one needs to evaluate multiple factors. Can we survive with just a single source in life? To survive, we need food, we need water, we need air, we need clothes, we need shelter etc.
Just to survive, we need to consider these many factors. And the reason why Majority percent of the world’s population is sad is because they are not considering life from all the aspects. Even considering a percent of this world’s population as happy might be an exaggeration. Some people are sad because they are suffering from some disease, someone is sad because of their family issues, someone is sad due to scarcity of money, someone is sad because they have such an abundance of money which they can’t manage, someone is sad because he or she is very fat and someone is sad because of being very lean.
Almost all the people are sad in this world irrespective of whether they are householders, ascetics, yogis, saints etc. Even the ascetics eagerly wait during evening for their disciples to return and bring the food items received as alms. They remain afraid of the fact that their disciples might desert them and thus always remain fearful as to who will look after their needs. Even an ascetic, who has renounced the world, remains so much fearful in life. Thus there is no happiness even in becoming an ascetic. There was a time when it was considered fortunate to become an ascetic, however, it is not true in current era.
If we consider people living in very rich countries then most of them have abundance of wealth. Even maids there drive expensive cars. Though people live in great luxuries, are they happy and contended in their life? Had this been true, not so many of them would have left their home as well as their countries to attain bliss in life. Thus money can’t bring happiness in our life and even our body can’t lead us to happiness.
We have never analyzed our life from this aspect. Money alone can’t bring happiness in life and even a healthy body alone can’t bring happiness in life. We perform various sadhanas still we are unable to attain success and happiness in life. Now who is to be blamed in such a situation: sadhana, sadhak, Guru or mantra? The truth is there is no short coming in any of them. The problem lies in the fact that we are not made aware about the fact that we are indebted towards three types of debts.
The concept behind wearing Yagyopaveet is this only. It consists of three strings and is worn over left shoulder and across the body such that it touches our heart. Every time, the heart beats, this string will also vibrate and will recall that we are indebted in our life. The three strings of Yagyopaveet symbolizes our debts towards – Gods, human beings and our ancestors. We are indebted towards Gods as they provide us with basic necessities of life. We are indebted towards Lord Sun as in His presence only, trees generate Oxygen which is essential for our survival. His presence ensures cultivation, germs sanitization etc. We are indebted towards Varun God for providing us water which is essential for our existence. We are indebted towards Pawan God for providing us with fresh air.
We are also indebted towards the human beings who have helped us in our life. We are indebted towards our family members, our friends, our neighbors, our teachers, our society, our country etc. We are indebted towards our family as they have looked after us, we our indebted towards our country as it has given us place to live and survive. The third aspects is our Pitra, i.e. our family members who are dead. We exists because of our mother and father as they gave us birth and brought us in this world.
This is the prime reason why Yagyopaveet is worn. It keeps on reminding the person that you are indebted in your life and have to work in the direction to get even out. The three strings always reminds us that we are indebted towards Gods and we must worship them, we are indebted towards our society and human beings and we must serve them and we are also indebted towards our ancestors and we must perform Shraadha for them. The word Shraadha in Hindi means that we should ofer our prayers to our ancestors with full devotion.
It has become a common practice nowadays that people just call some Brahmins in home and offer them some food or go to a Brahmin’s house and offer him some groceries and consider this activity as Shraadha. However, the prime aspect of performing Shraadha is to offer our prayers to our beloved ancestors. The Shastras have mentioned the procedures to perform Shraadha. However, wouldn’t it be great if we can get rid of all the three debts in a single go and attain success and happiness in life?
There is a sadhana procedure using which we can get rid of all the three debts. Till how long we will remain indebted towards all three of them and continue to repay them? We will breathe throughout our lives and will still continue to remain indebted. Sun always remain present in our solar system and thus is always affecting us. That means that there would not be a single moment in our life when we can get rid of all the debts in life and that would mean we can never attain success in any sadhana.
Thus this sadhana holds great significance as once performed, the sadhak gets free from all the debts in life. Even though it is recommended to still offer our prayers towards Gods and ancestors, not doing so after performing this sadhana ensures we don’t earn any demerit. Thus it is a very important sadhana for each and every person who wants to get rid of all the debts. This sadhana is a very effective sadhana and has been mentioned in Atharva Veda. Performing this sadhana ensures success, happiness, name and fame etc. in the life of the person. Also, being a human being, what useful have we done with our lives if we don’t attain success, name and fame, prosperity, happiness and fulfill all other worldly desires.
This special sadhana should be performed during the Pitra-Paksha. Some people consider that worshiping Gods, performing pious deeds is prohibited during this period, which is again a myth. This period should not be considered as an inauspicious time. This time is purposefully dedicated to our ancestors so that we can take out some time from our busy schedule and at least offer our prayers to them. The Sun, the Moon, the Stars, the air, water etc. all remain the same during this period also, then why shall we consider them as inauspicious? This is just a myth and no Shastras have mentioned this period as inauspicious. None of our Shastras have mentioned to perform fast during Ekadashi. Our ancestors observed that fasting once in a few days make our digestive system better and thus introduced this as a religious activity so that people start following it.
Some people contradict that it is a myth that food consumed by the Brahmins are received by our ancestors. We all know air is all around us, but can we catch it and show it that this thing is air. No, we can’t do that and similarly not everything can be explained via logic. Feeding Brahmin is just a symbol to offer our prayers and devotion towards our ancestors. It is also a fact that one can feed any poor person instead of feeding a Brahmin, whosoever is willing to eat on the behalf of our ancestors. A person can also offer food to a cow during this period.
We always shy away from donating money for a holy cause saying we are too tight on our budget. However, let us say, we suffer a fracture and the doctor says you need a plaster to fix the fracture. At this moment, we will certainly arrange for thousands of rupees instantaneously while we were facing financial crisis for doing any pious deed. Thus, it is just our thought process which prioritizes our goals in life. And this is why we need a Guru as He can transform our thought process, He can enlighten our wisdom.
Many people feel there is no need to go to temple or why they should worship any God. However, they don’t have a divine being, the Guru, in their lives who can tell them that there a debt towards Gods and it is your duty to offer prayers to them. Such people remains indebted throughout their lives. What is the reason that a child is born in a beggar’s family and his or her entire life is going to be a struggle and on the other hand, there is a child who takes birth in the Ambani’s family and from the very first day he or she is going to enjoy all the luxuries of life? We must pause and give this point a moment to soak the depth behind this very fact! The reason behind such a difference of fortunes is how indebted we are towards the Gods and how much devotion or prayers we offered in our last lives, what all good deeds we did in our last lives.
That is why we must try our best to get rid of this debt in our life. We can see people around us who earn a lot yet they are not happy in their life, they are not satisfied with their life. We can’t buy happiness in market, there is no shop which sells peace and happiness. Rather, we have shops which sells guns and other weapons, but they are something which brings chaos in life. No shop call sell happiness and peace in this world. We can’t buy happiness even by giving our entire assets. Happiness can only be attained by means of a SadGuru in life. Only such a divine being can transform our life, He can help us get rid of all the darkness, He can help us to get rid of our ego and show us the path of peace and harmony.
Presented below is a very special sadhana which can help us to get rid of all the three debts that we owe. Getting success in this sadhana is the only means to attain success in any other sadhana.
One needs Sarva Rin Shaman Yantra, Sarva Rin Shaman Gutika and Sarva Rin Shaman rosary for this procedure. This sadhana should be started from the first day of the Pitra Paksha. This year, Pitra Paksha is starting from 2nd Septemeber and will end on 17th September.
