Many a times a person takes out some courage and lodges a complaint against them, however he is left entangled in the court cases which makes his life nothing less than a hell. One should seek a divine power in such a case and Goddess Pitambara is the best divine power to help out a person in such devastating circumstances.
Goddess Pitambara is also known as Valgamukhi or Bagulamukhi meaning yellow or crane faced Goddess. Pitambara is the ultimate weapon to destroy all the enemies of universe. She is the super power which paralyzes the evil forces. Goddess Pitambara is the helper of the Parbramha and the controller of the speech, movement and knowledge. It is not fair to assume Pitambara as the Goddess of black magic. In fact in all the destructive action of Goddess Pitambara – protection is the inherited motive.
Since the Mahavidyas are independentlyexisting Goddesses, they exist devoid of male counterparts. They are said to be existent without a ‘consort’ (or the Purusha, like the other forms of Shakti are often identified in the Tantric texts as the energy of a male deity, primarily, Lord Shiva). Thus, Goddess Pitambara too is one of the ten forms of the wisdom Goddesses, symbolizing the potent female primeval force by Her own will.
A person who worships Her gets relief from all sorts of problems in life. Goddess Pitambara relieves a person from the enemies and negative energies. “Bagalamukhi” is derived from “Bagala” (distortion of the original Sanskrit root “valgā”) and “mukha”, meaning “bridle” and “face”, respectively. Thus, the name means one whose face has the power to capture or control. She thus represents the hypnotic power of the Goddess. Goddess Pitambara has been given this name because of her beauty. Goddess Pitambara has a golden complexion and her dress is yellow.
She sits on a golden throne in the midst of an ocean of nectar full of yellow lotuses. A crescent moon adorns her head. Two descriptions of the Goddess are found in various texts- The Dwi- Bhuja (two handed) and the Chaturbhuja (Four handed) form.
The Dwi-Bhuja (two handed form) depiction is the more common and is described as the Soumya or milder form. She holds a club in her right hand with which she beats a demon, while pulling his tongue out with her left hand. She gives the exhibition of stambhana, the power to stun or paralyze an enemy into silence. This is one of the boons for which Goddess Pitambara’s devotees worship her. Other Mahavidya are also said to represent similar powers useful for defeating enemies, invoked by their worshipers through various rituals.
Goddess Pitambara is also called Brahmastra Roopini and She turns each thing into its opposite. She turns speech into silence, knowledge into ignorance, power into impotence, defeat into victory. She represents the knowledge whereby each thing must in time become its opposite. As the still point between dualities, she allows us to master them. To see the failure hidden in success, the death hidden in life, or the joy hidden in sorrow are ways of contacting Her reality. Goddess Pitambara is the secret presence of the opposite wherein each thing is dissolved back into the Unborn and the Uncreated.
