Our complete life is controlled by different types of energies and we don’t have any control over them. This is the reason why a person is not able to live a life that he or she wishes to live. One can’t be put into the category of a happy person if he or she is rich. There might be several shortcomings in the life of such a person, he or she might be suffering from various diseases.
Can’t this be possible that the way we keep our vehicle under our full control, we can keep our life under such a control? Wherever or whenever we wish, we can turn our life into that direction. And above all, we can identify who are the persons who care for us and who are planning to harm us and how to destroy their evil plans. If we listen to the shastras, it has been clearly mentioned that it is SadGuru who wishes the best for the disciples. He is the true guide and is an incarnation of God himself. Guru always guides the disciples on the right path. Any selfless service done towards Guru can’t go in vain.
The second in this ladder comes the family and within family it is our ancestors who think good for us. There might be cases where people within a family had difference of opinions, however all such worldly issues comes to an end the moment the soul departs from the body. The way a father always wishes that his son must become more capable than him, similarly our ancestors want us to live a happier life than what we are currently living.
It is clearly written in Gita that a person doesn’t die when the soul desserts the body. This phenomenon is just like getting dressed up in a different clothes. Many texts have mentioned that the soul continue to remain around the family members even many years after the death. Such a soul can see everyone but no one can see it. If due respect, worship etc. is not given to this soul, it gets highly disappointed. If a person pays tribute to the ancestors, worships them, then each and every task of such an individual gets completed on time without any troubles. And due to this reason, all those people who perform worship, holy sacrifice etc., in detail, don’t forget to invite their ancestors. It has been mentioned in Yajur Veda that one must invite the ancestors, request them to participate in all the works of your life and pray to them to grant success, fame, progress and good health.
Ancestors hold enormous power because they are not tied within this body. They are true form of energy and siddhis. When favorable, they can tell about the issues a person is going to face in near future, they can guide onto a path which has less or no troubles, they can help us to perform those tasks which can bring success and fame in our life. They can create a magnetic aura around us. They can bring harmony in our life. Nothing is impossible for them; only thing that is required is to appease them and this can be done by worshipping them by means of this Sadhana.
A person who understands the importance of ancestors never forgets to pray them prior to starting any new thing in life. However, just remembering them is not good enough to bring a positive change in our life. If we truly want to get the favors of our ancestors, we must appease them completely and that can only be done by means of this Sadhana. As per our shastras, the period of Shraadha (Pitra Paksh), has not been considered auspicious. The alignment of stars in the sky is not favorable to perform any pious thing at that time. However, ancestors do come to earth during this period and thus our shastras dedicated this duration of 15 days to them. This year Shraadha period is from th th 5 September to 19 September.
The most important thing in this Sadhana procedure is your feelings towards the ancestors. If a person pays tribute to the ancestors by means of this Sadhana and offers due respect to them, without any doubts the ancestors gets pleased on the sadhak. It is also a fact that we have got this human form only due to our ancestors. They were the one who took care of us when we were small and they were the one who looked after all our necessities. Thus it is important to show our gratitude towards them by performing this Sadhana and this process of performing Sadhana to show our gratitude towards our ancestors is termed as Tarpan.
This sadhana can be performed on any of the above mentioned fifteen days. However, it is recommended to perform this Sadhana on all these days for best results. If done on all the days, one just need to perform the procedure once only. On the remaining days, one just needs to do mantra chanting after lighting lamp and incense stick. One needs five Someshwar Rudraksha, fifteen Laghu Nariyal, snake made of copper and Rudraksha rosary. One also needs rice grains, sesame seeds, saffron, white cloth, milk, ghee, honey and Tusli leaves.
Get up early on the very first day of PitraPaksha and take a bath. Get into fresh white clothes. Cover a clean wooden plank with fresh white cloth. Make five mounds of black sesame seeds and place one Someshwar Rudraksha on each of these mounds. Now encircle these Rudraksha with a black ink (kajal). Now make fifteen mounds of rice in front of the sesame mounds and place one Laghu Nariyal on each of the mounds. Light a ghee lamp and place the copper snake below your mat. This safeguards a person from any evil spirits. Next offer some sindur to the Rudraksha.
Next come out of your worship room and offer water to your ancestors, while facing East direction, from a copper pot. This is a message to the ancestor that their offspring is inviting them. Chant the following mantra while offering the water.
Now without looking anywhere around, directly go into your worship place and chant the below mantra 5 times. Offer small amount of sesame seed mixed with ghee onto the Someshwar Rudraksha while chanting the below mantra.
Chanting the above mantra with pious heart ensures that the ancestors come and reside at their place. Next request them to help you in each and every aspect of life. One should not be reluctant in asking from any type of favors because they are your ancestors. Next make a mark similar to crescent form of moon around the Laghu Nariyals with kajal. This sign is like Lakshman Rekha which permanently makes the ancestors stay in your home and bless you forever. Then worship the Laghu Nariyals by offering saffron, rice grains and Tulsi leaves.
Now take the Rudraksha rosary and chant five rounds of the below mantra with it. One must take care that this rosary must not have been used earlier to chant any other mantra. Care must also be taken to not to use this rosary to chant any other mantra in future.
This is a very powerful mantra. Chanting five rounds of the above mantra completes the Sadhana procedure. If possible, the sadhak must try to perform this Sadhana during the entire Pirta Paksha duration. On the last day, tie all the Sadhana articles in a black cloth and drop it in a river or pond.
This is a very effective Sadhana. You yourself will feel the positive outcome of this Sadhana. You will find that now there is no quarrel in your home, your workplace has become the best you could have ever thought for, your children are obeying you, your business has started to expand very quickly, your personality has improved a lot and you are a contented soul now.
