Goddess Dhoomavati is often named as the seventh Mahavidya. Once, Mother Sati asked Lord Shiva to feed Her as She was very hungry. When Shiva didn’t pay much attention to Her requests, the Goddess eats Him to satisfy her extreme hunger. Lord Shiva then requested Her to leave Him and She agreed to do so as She was in a guilt of eating Her own husband. Shiva then rejected her by cursing her to assume the form of a widow.
Another oral legend tells that Dhoomavati was created by Mother Goddess Durga, in the battle against demons Shumbha and Nishumbha. Dhoomavati’s literal name (“she who abides in smoke”) comes from her ability to defeat demons by creating stinging smoke.
This form of mother Goddess is very helpful to win over any enemy or to get rid of even the most evil spirits. When most horrific demons failed miserably before the Goddess, than how can our enemies, who are just human beings, even dare to come in front of a person who is guarded by the Mother Goddess. Provided below is a very significant Sadhana which should be performed to get rid of all sorts of enemies and to bring peace and harmony in life. Dhoomavati’s outer inauspicious and fearful form reveals the dangers of considering sensory pleasures as fulfillment giving.
The winnowing basket, used to separate the husk from the grain, symbolizes the need to separate the outer illusory. Dhoomavati is described as the bestower of supernatural powers, a rescuer from all troubles and a granter of all desires and rewards, including ultimate knowledge and nirvana. Her worship is also prescribed for those who wish to defeat their foes. It is a myth that Dhoomavati’s worship is considered ideal for unpaired members of society, such as bachelors, widows, and world renouncers as well as Tantriks. Like any other form of the Goddess, worshiping Mother Goddess Dhoomavati is considered fruitful for all the people.
It is incorrect to associate Mother Goddess Dhoomavati with only inauspicious qualities, her thousand-name hymn relates her positive aspects too. She is often called tenderhearted and bestows boons. Dhoomavati is described as a great teacher, one who reveals ultimate knowledge of the universe, which is beyond the illusory divisions like auspicious and inauspicious. Her ugly form teaches the devotee to look beyond the superficial, to look inwards and seek the inner truths of life.
Presented below is a very powerful Sadhana procedure which is small and highly effective to get rid of even the most powerful enemies from life. One can also perform this Sadhana if he/she is facing any malefic alignment of planets, which might result in some sort of disaster in life.
Sadhana Procedure:
This Sadhna should be performed at night after 10:00 p.m.. Take a bath and get into fresh white clothes. Sit on a white mat facing South. Take a wooden plank and cover it too with white cloth.
Place a picture of Gurudev and worship Him with vermillion, rice grains, flower etc. Light an incense stick and an oil lamp. Chant one round of Guru Mantra and seek His blessings for the success in Sadhana. Also worship Lord Ganpati and pray for removing any hurdles that might come while performing your Sadhana.
Now take a steel plate and place it over the wooden plank just in front of Gurudev’s picture. Write “धूं” with the help of lamp black and a stick. Place the Shatru Mardani Dhoomavati yantra over it, join your palms and then chant this meditation mantra 11 times-

Soubhagyamytam Prapya Jaate Devituram Yay.
Now chant 5 rounds of below mantra with Shatru Mardani Dhoomavati Rosary.
After completion of the Sadhana, drop all the Sadhana articles in the roots of a peepul tree. If this is not possible, take all the Sadhana articles outside your house and bury them inside the ground in South direction. Do not look back after doing this and reach directly to your home and have a bath. This completes the Sadhana procedure and soon you will see how your enemies get weakened day after day.
