The beloved Lord of all, with shimmering pendants hanging from his ears, beautiful eyebrows and large eyes, full of mercy with a cheerful countenance and a blue speck on his throat. I worship Him who is beloved of his devotees, who is Shankara, the Lord of all.
Before the battle of Mahabharat, Lord Krishna advised Arjun to perform Paashupataastrey Sadhana if he wanted to defeat the huge army of Kauravas, wanted to win over death and wished for good fortune in times ahead. According to Lord Krishna, there is no better Sadhana for totality and absolute success in life than Paashupataastrey Sadhana.
The great sage Vishwamitra too has said that performing the Paashupataastrey Sadhana is the greatest fortune of one’s life. It is the best ritual to appease Lord Shiva & gaining divine powers from Him. Following are the few benefits of performing this Sadhana:
1) If one is unable to attain success in sadhanas due to evil planets or past bad karmas, then by the grace of Lord Paashupataastrey, one attains quick success as the Lord neutralizes all the negative forces.
2) Lord Shiva is bestower of totality and by the virtue of this sadhana, one makes good spiritual progress.
3) After trying this sadhana, one never has to face failure in life.
4) Lord Shiva rules luck and thus this sadhana is a boon for those who are unfortunate.
5) If accomplished with full devotion and faith, Lord Shiva appears before the sadhak and blesses him.
One needs Narmadeshwar Baanlinga and Rudraaksha rosary for this sadhana. Early morning, have a bath and wear yellow cloth. Sit on a yellow mat facing East. Cover a wooden seat with yellow cloth. On it place a picture of Gurudev and worship Him with vermillion, rice grains, flower etc. Light an incense stick and a ghee lamp. Chant one round of Guru Mantra and seek Gurudev’s divine blessing for success in the sadhana.
Next take a Bel leaf and put it in front of Gurudev’s picture. Place the Narmadeshwar Baanling over the bel leaf and pray thus
Om Dhyaayenityam Mahesham Rajat Giri
Nibham Chaaru Chandraavatansam,
Ratnaakalpojjawallaangam Parashu Mrig
Varaabheeti Hastam Prasannam.
Padmaaseenam Samantaat Stutatmamar
Ganneirvyaaghra Vrittim Vasaanam,
Vishvaaghamvishva Vandhyamnikhil Bhay
Haram Panch Vaktram Trinetram.
Place a flower on your head and on before the Shivalinga. Then contemplating on the holy form of the Lord chant thus,
Pinnak Dhrik Ihaavah Ihaavah Ih Tishtta Ih
Tishtt Ih Sannidhehi Ih Sannidhehi, Ih
Sannidhatsv, Yaavat Poojaam Karomyaham.
Sthaaneeyam Pashupataye Namah.
Now chant 21 rounds of the below mantra with Rudraaksha rosary.

This is a mantra that brings total success and one can even attain divine powers through it. It is known as Ashta Shiva Mantra in the ancient texts. Perform Shiva Aarti after completing the mantra chanting. After completing the Sadhana procedure, place Narmadeshwar Baanling & Rudraaksha rosary at your worship place.
