I worship the benevolent Chhinnamasta, who is at the center of the solar disc, holds her severed head with disordered hair in her left hand, an open mouth and drinking her own blood oozing out of her throat, who is standing on Rati and Anang and is filled with joy upon seeing her friends Dakini and Varini.
Chhinnamasta is mentioned as the greatest of all the Mahavidhyas in Chhinnamasta Upanishad & Ten Mahavidhyas scripture. All the Mahavidhyas are great, however till the time we are not able to attain peace, till the time we are not able to win over our enemies, till the time we don’t attain name & fame in life, till the time we are not able to attain success in our work, we have to face failures till that time & failures are nothing but deaths of our wishes. Once a person makes up his mind to attain something in life, then a content life can be lived only after attaining that goal.
The hurdles, the obstacles, the failures we are facing in our lives can’t be removed by our own efforts. Had that been possible, we would have attained success in our lives much earlier. We need divine power to accomplish great feats in life. A great task can only be performed when both our mental & physical abilities are backed by divine powers of Gods & Goddesses in life. Now this great task can help us attain higher education, promotion, success in a job or can be any other wish that we want to fulfill in life. Even if we don’t do harm to anyone, we can’t control arrival of enemies into our life. We don’t have any means to overcome our enemies. We can see a lot of people who have tried to take help from the police, court & even taking the matters in their hands, are still in a state of dejection. Their resources have been depleted over time; however, their problems still stand tall before them.
Now the problem that arises before the person is how to live a proper life, how to attain the goals & gain contentment in life. This can be accomplished by a person who has a strong will power & have the grace of Goddess Chhinnamasta in life. Any human being has two types of enemies in life – physical & mental. The physical enemy can be wife, brother, father, colleague, boss, friends etc. who unnecessarily creates trouble in our life & the mental enemies are anger, lust, ego etc.
These mental enemies overpower a human being for just a fraction of the time & make them do heinous tasks like killings, rapes etc. The person hardly takes 5-10 mins to perform these sins but repents for an entire lifetime for performing them.
It should be our goal to continue to grow in life, however, it is also a fact that once a person starts to grow, they start to face unnecessary obstacles in their growth path. A person getting promoted at workplace could have felt it that those people who were friends before promotions are now jealous of him & try to find ways to defame him. So, what shall a person do under such a situation, shall the person stop working hand & refrain from growth? This has its own implications as the person will become dull & lethargic & will thus again become discontented in life. Without a doubt, we need grace of Gods & Goddesses who can help us win over all the enemies & Goddess Chhinnamasta is the greatest Goddess for accomplishing this deed.
It has been seen that a lot of people don’t get success in sadhanas & the prime reason behind this is their lack of faith in sadhana, mantra, Gods & Guru.

Gains from God, pilgrimage, priest, mantra, astrologer, doctor and Guru is proportional to our faith in them.
If a person is critically ill & visits a doctor, then the doctor will prescribe some medicine to him. Now, if the person starts to doubt the doctor & doesn’t take the medicines, for sure the person will not be able to recover from the illness & will die. Same holds true with sadhanas, if a person doubts the sadhana & procedure recommended by a SadGuru, one is bound to face failure in the sadhana. Presented below is a small sadhana of Goddess Chhinnamasta which if performed with full devotion & dedication can transform the life of the sadhak.
Sadhana Procedure: One needs Chhinnamasta Yantra, Chhinnamasta rosary & Chhinnamasta Gutika for this sadhana. This is a 21 days sadhana & sadhak must maintain celibacy during the entire sadhana duration. This sadhana must be performed after 9:00 pm. Take a bath & get into fresh yellow dhoti, also wear Guru Pitambar. Make sure you are not wearing any stitched clothes. Now sit on a yellow mat facing South & place a wooden plank before yourself. Cover it with a fresh piece of yellow cloth. Place picture of SadGurudev on the plank & worship Him with vermillion, rice grains, flowers, etc. Light an oil lamp & an incense stick. Chant one round of Guru Mantra with Chhinnamasta rosary. Pray to Gurudev for success in sadhana.
Next, take some water in your right hand and speak, “I, (speak out your name), son of (speak out your father’s name), belonging to (speak out your Gotra), am performing Chhinnamasta Sadhana for removal of all the obstacles from my life and getting a glimpse of Goddess Chhinnamasta.” Let the water flow to the ground. Next take a steel plate & place Chhinnamasta Yantra at the center. Make 5 marks with vermillion, one at center & one at all the corners. Offer red colored flowers & some sweet on to the yantra. Next place the Gutika on the right side of the yantra & worship it too with vermillion, rice grains, etc. Now take the rosary & chant 11 rounds of the below mantra.
Repeat this sadhana procedure for the next 20 days. Drop the sadhana articles in a river or pond & offer some food & gifts to 5 small girls. This completes the sadhana procedure & soon you will start to observe the blessings of Mother Goddess in your life.
