The sun is the epicenter of this solar system & all the heavenly bodies of our solar system revolve around it. Earth completes a revolution of sun in around 364 days while rotating on its axis. As it rotates, the part of the earth that faces the sun observes day & the other part of the earth observes night. Similarly, the moon revolves around the earth every thirty days.
There is a significant impact of both the Sun & Moon in our life. On one hand where the Sun provides warmth & light, Moon has a control over our mind. A person with an unfavorable Moon can’t have control over his mind & soul.
An eclipse is not just a natural phenomenon, rather it represents a very powerful period for gaining success in Sadhanas. It is our great fortune that we are going to witness two eclipses in a very short duration of 15 days. Although it is said that one should refrain from a lot of activities like eating & drinking during the period of eclipse due to the harmful radiations reaching earth at that time, it is also true that poison can sometimes work as an elixir & save lives in some cases. Similarly, the period of eclipse may not be good according to the scientists, but it is sure it has one significant advantage, it is an unparalleled time for performing sadhanas & gaining success in them.
The prime reason behind this opinion is the fact that chanting a Mantra just a few times during the eclipse duration produces the same results when the same Mantra is chanted one lakh times during a normal day. Thus, if a sadhana is performed during eclipse, it proves a hundred times more effective & hence success is almost assured.

The great significance of the eclipse is well reflected in the life events of great incarnations. Lord Ram was initiated by His Guru during the eclipse duration. Similarly, Lord Krishna too got the initiation during the eclipse duration. And the prime reason why their Gurus initiated them during the eclipse is the fact that during these moments it is very easy for the disciple to completely imbibe the divine energy transferred by the Guru.
The battle of Mahabharat was about to begin. The army of the Kauravas was ready for the battle & its great warriors like Bheeshm, Dronacharya, Karna were mounted on their chariots. On the other hand, the army of Pandavas too stood ready awaiting the sound of the battle trumpet. The Pandavas asked Lord Krishan to grant the permission for starting the fight, but Lord Krishna stopped them. He said, “If the war starts now, any side would be likely to win. Within a few moments from now, a solar eclipse is about to being & if the war bugle is sounded at that time, the Pandavas are sure to win.” Lord Krishna knew the Kaal Gyan & had realize the significance of the moments of eclipse. He did blow the trumpet at the precise time & history is a witness that all Kauravas got killed, while the five Pandavas remains unharmed & emerged victorious at the end of the battle.
A small ritual accomplished during the period of eclipse is certainly more powerful than a Mantra Anushtthaan (chanting a mantra one lakh twenty five thousand times). The same effect that one gains by performing this long procedure can be had by chanting just 5 or 11 rounds of a mantra during this period. May I be successful in this Sadhana.” And let the water flow on to the ground. Next take already washed 11 Peepul (holy fig) leaves & place it in front of Gurudev’s picture. Place one Kulaal Chakra on each Peepul leave & worship it by offering water, vermillion, rice grains, flowers etc. Next chant the below mantra for an hour with the rosary.
