I bow to the son of God Varun, the beloved devotee of Lord Rama, the chief of the Vanaras, the epitome of all the virtues, the foremost among the wise, a fire to consume the forest of the demon race, possessing a body shining as a mountain of gold and a home of immeasurable strength.
If we talk about the epitome of service towards Guru, then undoubtedly the name that comes to our mind is Lord Hanuman. Even though He was an incarnation of Lord Shiva, He spent His entire life as a disciple, serving His Guru & considered serving the Guru as the greatest fortune of His life.
He reached to the level where He said, Ram Kaju Kinhe Binu, Mohi Kaha Vishraama i.e. I can’t get rest until I complete the work of my Guru, Lord Ram. There is no other better example of service towards Guru than Lord Hanuman & as a result He became even more revered and worshiped than the Guru, Lord Ram. It is the blessing of His Guru, Lord Ram, that helped Lord Hanuman reach such a state in His life.
There is a very interesting story associated with the rise of Lord Hanuman to such a level. Prior to starting the war with Ravan, Lord Ram wanted to worship Lord Shiva. Thus, He requested Lord Hanuman to find an apt Shivalinga for the worship. Lord Hanuman immediately went out to search for the best Shivalinga for the worship. When He couldn’t find a relevant Shivalinga, He started meditating on Lord Shiva to request for a Shivalinga. However, it took a while for Lord Hanuman to please Lord Shiva & as the auspicious time was running out, Lord Ram created a Shivalinga with the sand of Rameshwaram, Baluka Shivalinga, and worshiped it.
Later when Lord Hanuman reached Rameshwaram holding the Shivalinga provided by Lord Shiva, He was left dejected to find that Lord Ram had already completed His worship. He went in a state of guilt thinking He couldn’t fulfil His master’s wish. Lord Ram pitied on Lord Hanuman & blessed Him saying one must first worship the Shivalinga brought by Hanuman, Hanumadeeshwara Shivalinga, prior to worshiping Rameshwara Shivalinga to gain any merit. This tradition holds true even today & people first visit Hanumadeeshwara Shivalinga prior to visiting & worshiping Rameshwara Shivalinga.
Over the period, this boon from Lord Ram didn’t just remain associated to the Shivalinga but poured out into Lord Hanuman too. Due to this reason, prior to worshiping Lord Ram, one must worship Lord Hanuman. It has been mentioned in Skanda Puran that Lord Shri Ram said all the work done by me is done by Hanuman & all the work done by Hanuman is done by me. The mystery of Lord Hanuman is tremendous, and His worship procedure contains several meanings. Worshiping Lord Hanuman is worshiping the prime God of Lord Ram, Lord Shiva. Lord Hanuman is an incarnation of Lord Shiva & thus possesses such a divine aura.
There is no limit of the number of devotees of Lord Hanuman and they are able to get His blessings by following simple procedures. However, if one follows a dedicated ritual & diligently performs sadhana related to Lord Hanuman, the sadhak gets blessed with good health, fearlessness & safety against any misfortune. There is no better sadhana than the sadhana of Lord Hanuman to get rid of any disease or to nullify any misfortune. Anyone who wishes to get an inkling of the divine energy & power of Lord Hanuman should perform this small activity. One should sit at a silent place in VeerAasana & chant the seed mantra of Lord Hanuman, “Hum” loudly for five minutes.
In a few days the person will see a transformation on his face & body and a divine aura will start encircling him.
There are several sadhanas related to Lord Hanuman that are present in our Shastras. These sadhanas target various problems of our lives. This shows His loving nature & great personality. Lord Hanuman can safeguard His devotees from illness, enemies, evil spirits, sudden misfortune etc. For all these challenges of life, a dedicated sadhana related to Lord Hanuman was created by our ancestors.
Lord Hanuman has always been known as the one who eradicates pandemics & provides good health to His devotees. When Tulsidas felt a surge of pain in his arm, he worshiped Lord Hanuman by creating Hanuman Bahuk & was able to get rid of the unbearable pain.
Thus, a devoted sadhak or disciple, gives special place to Lord Hanuman sadhana & worship to remain agile in life. This leads to an expansion of their power, intelligence, knowledge, consciousness & will power because Lord Hanuman removes all sorts of dangers, diseases, pains, sufferings & demolishes the enemies of His devotees.
