However, these synonyms can’t explain love, life gets over some time, however love cannot, it doesn’t have any boundary, it is also not heart because heart is just a small portion of love and even meditation doesn’t have that level of completeness when compared to love. If we symbolize love as earth, then we are just narrowing down the meaning of love because the depth of earth can be measured. It is impossible to measure the depth of love, one can measure the depth of Mansoravar, one can climb on the highest peak on this earth, however love….love is something which is completely different from all these things and it is the highest of all these things, it is like the sky which is unbounded, no one can measure the breadth of sky, no one can capture its dimensions. And due to this reason, love is termed as unbounded sky, Kabir termed love as “Gagan Mandal Vicch Dera”, Soor termed love as “Laali” and Meera termed love as “Alakh Agochara Eeshwar”.
Due to this reason I say that it is utterly important to understand the real meaning of love in life, it’s a pilgrimage of life, only a blessed person can travel on this path, only that person can pray in life, only such a person can forget himself, only such a person can attain God, only such a person can amalgamate into God. How can a person who has not understood the real meaning of love can attain God or Guru in life? It is because love doesn’t have two ends, it just has a single end. There can’t be Dwait (existence of two different bodies) in love. One who says that I am in love with so and so person, is telling a lie because there is someone else also there and where someone else exists, then love can’t exist at that place. Love means complete surrender, love means demolishing one’s existence, love is the process of destroying one’s ego and the point at which this process completes, love starts blossoming from that point.
And the moment I use the word love, people starts giving me strange expressions, people become utmost attentive and start to think about this word as if I have used some offensive word. It is because of their narrow mind and limited thinking, for them love means Lust, they term love as Body, they term love as staring at someone, they term love as physical satisfaction, they term love as abusing a female’s body and they term love as a very thin curtain wrapped over their evil desires which is nothing but a false love to fulfill their wishes.
Love (प्रेम) word has been created in Hindi using letter “प्र” which means Adwaitya i.e. there is no other person. When two different aspects resides in two people, love can’t reside there. Due to this reason only, a husband can’t love his wife. A husband has this ego that he is husband, he is something, something higher than the wife…..and where this feeling exists, then there is no sense of surrendering in life and thus there is no love. Husband and wife just pretend to love each other, they just enact in this world. Husband says to his wife that you are as dear as my life and the wife says that I am here to serve you for all my life. It is just an illusion, they are just enacting in front of the society. They just do it to fulfill their desires, they just do it to make the best out of their life….where is love in all this? It is just a fake relationship of love, this is just a selfish relationship, this is just an illusion and definitely this is not love.
Love is the process of annihilation of one’s own identity. Where there are two separate words “lover” and “beloved”, love can’t exist there also, because there can’t be two separate persons in love. When the beloved completely annihilates her existence, then love germinates there, then love starts to flourish there, then a sweet fragrance of love starts to flow in life. Love is the seed of God, when this seed loses its existence, then God is attained. Love is prayer, love is surrendering in the holy feet of Guru, love is the process of losing one’s existence, love is pain; a pleasing and eternal joy which gives sweet pain….. – Love is an eternal bliss which tears the heart and gets assimilated in this entire Universe.
– Love is a tear drop which gets generated within the eyes but eyelids don’t drop it because the eye gets the glimpse of the lover in that tear. – Love is the stage where a person gets rid of ego, it is the pride of life. – Love is the essence of life, because one can rise higher in life by means of love only.
Those people are lucky who have loved someone in life. One in million is fortunate enough to be blessed with love in life. One can’t celebrate the festival called life if he or she has never loved someone in life. They can’t reach to the level of meditation, they can’t enjoy the eternal bliss, they can’t attain Gurutatva in complete form and they can’t even attain God in life.
Due to this reason I state that the greatest achievement in life is love. It is the essence of entire human civilization, generating a pulse in heart is love, love is Spring season, it is the path to attain Brahma in life, love is a prayer, love is sacrifice, love is the correct definition of Poornamadah Poornamidam. In my opinion, love is the dance of life, love is completeness of life, it is the fate written with a golden pen, it is the celebration of life, it is the means to attain God and is the easiest way to attain Brahma in life. It is easier to speak about Brahma, it is easier to write texts on God, it is easier to explain the Vedas, Upanishads…..however it is extremely difficult to speak on love, or write on love or to explain what is love. However I am trying to explain you all the correct meaning of love by means of this discourse.
To worship means to get closer to your beloved, so near that one assimilates onself in the lover and forgets oneself. To forget and assimilate in oneself it is not possible without love. Only love can teach the correct way to live and die, to die for someone can only be learnt by the means of love. And a person who hasn’t ever died for someone, how can he live properly? If a person has not felt the pain of being departed from his or her lover, how can such a person get assimilated within his Guru, what sort of sadhana can he perform: Kisun Kaam Ke The Nahi, Koi Na Kaudi Deh.
Gurudev Kirya Kari Bhai Amolaka Deh. In these lines, the poet mentions that I was useless in life and no one ever appreciated me. However by the grace of Guru, I have become unparalleled in life and this entire world now appreciates me.
SatGuru Mera Surma, Kare Sabad Ki Chot.
Mare Gola Prem Ka, Dhahe Bharam Ka Kot.
In these lines, the poet mentions that my Guru is a great personality who hurts a person with His words. He also attacks a person with His affection and thus destroys the illusion from one’s life.
SatGuru Sabdi Teer Hai, Keeyo Tan Man Cheer.
Bedardi Samjhe Nahi, Virahi Pave Bhed.
In these lines, the poet mentions that the words of a Guru are like an arrow which pierces both my body and soul. However, He doesn’t understand this point that by this act, I am able to understand His love and affection towards me.
Love is like an ember which has been covered by the ash of attachment…. SadGuru blows air over this and removes all the ashes above it and then the worship emerges out like a glowing ember.
Due to this reason, mere praying won’t help, to sit with closed eyes will not get you any fruits, you can’t get success in sadhana by this act. It is necessary to get in in His heart. And then only eternal joy can germinate in the heart of such a blessed person, then only one can travel on the path of Sadhana and then only a person will be able to get a glimpse of Brahma in his life.
Guru Kahe So Kijiye, Kare So Keejai Nahi,
Charan Das Ki Seehk Sun, Yahi Raakh Man Mahin.
In these lines, the poet says that a person should do what the Guru asks him to do and should not do what the Guru is doing. He then further mentions that every disciple must keep this thing in mind.
Jap-Tap-Puja-Paatha Sab, Guru Charanaa Mahin,
Nis Din Guru Seva Kare, Phiru Upasana Kahin.
In these lines, the poet says that worshiping, reading holy books, chanting Mantras and all such holy and pious things resides in the holy feet of the Guru. Thus one who daily serves Guru doesn’t have to waste his time in performing these activities.
Ka Tapasya Upasana, Jog Jagya Aru Daan,
Charan Das Yon Kahat Hain, Sab Hi Thote Jaan,
In these lines, the poet says that Penance, Worship, Performing Holy Sacrifice, Chanting Mantra and Donation are all useless in life.
Guru Hi Jap-Tap-Dhyaan Hai, Guru Hi Mokh Nirvaan,
Charan Das Guru Naam Te, Naahi Upasana Gyaan.
In these lines, the poet says that Guru is Mantra Chanting, Penance and Meditation and Guru is the Nirvana. There is nothing left in life if a person is able to attain a SadGuru. I bless you all that may all of you get a true Guru in your life.
