Located between the two mountains Nar and Narayan, Badrinath is a majestic sight as well as the the most important of all the Char Dhams.
Millions of tourist come to this place every year to seek blessings and to get a glimpse of the famous temple of Shri Badrinathji. Badrinath is the only Shrine which is part of both Chota Char Dham and India Char Dham. Badrinath is one among four pilgrimage centres in four corners of India.
Among them were Badrikashram (Badrinath Temple) in the North, Rameshwaram in South, Dwarkapuri in west and Jagannathpuri in east. BhagvatPuran describes: There in Badrikashram the Supreme being (Vishnu), in his incarnation as the sages Nar & Narayan, had been undergoing great penance since time immemorial for the welfare of all living entities.
SkandaPurana describes more about the place: “There are several sacred shrines in heaven, on earth, and in hell; but there is no shrine like Badrinath.”
Badrinath oftenly called as Badri Vishal, was re-established by Adi Shri Shankaracharaya to revive the lost prestige of Hinduism and to unite nation in one bond. Badrinath is one land richly infused with sacred accounts from numerous ancient Hindu scriptures. Be it the story of the Pandav brothers, along with Draupadi, going past on their last pilgrimage by ascending the slopes of a peak near Badrinath called Swargarohini or the Ascent to Heaven’ or the visit by Lord Krishna and other great sages, these are just some of the many tales which we associate with this holy pilgrimage.
According to VamanaPurana, the sages Nara and Narayana (fifth avatar of Lord Vishnu) performed Penances here. Great sages of yore like Kapila Muni, Gautam, Kashyap have performed penance here, Bhakta Narada attained salvation and Lord Krishna loved this region, medieval religious scholars like AdiShankaracharya, Ramanujacharya, Sri Madhavacharya, Sri Nityananda have come here for learning and quiet contemplation, so many still continue to do even today.
Some of the important places to visit aroundBadrinath Temple are as mentioned below and each of them hold a great significance in our life:
Neelkanth: At the back of the Badrinath temple, a side valley opens to a conical shaped Neelkanth peak (6600 mts). Also known as the ‘Garhwal Queen’ is a snowy peak in the shape of a pyramid that forms the background of the Badrinath. Visitors can come up to Brahm Kamal area.
Satopanth: It’s a triangular lake surrounded by snow covered peaks and is named after the Hindu gods Mahesh, Vishnu and Brahma. It is believed that Hindu Gods Mahesh, Vishnu and Brahma takes bath in this Sarovar each Ekadasi of Hindu Calender. (Permission required to visit)
TaptKund: Before entering the Badrinath Temple, one has to take a holy dip in the TaptKund. Taptkund is a natural hot water pool fed by a sulphur spring which is said to be the abode of Agni, the god of fire. The bathing area has separate arrangements for men and women. Although the normal temperature is 55°c, the water temperature keeps rising gradually during the day. It is considered to have high medicinal value. A dip here is considered to be a good cure for skin diseases.
Brahmkapal: Near the temple, there is an important place to perform Shradha of ancestors. It is the place where Lord Bhairav got relieved from the fourth head of Lord Brahma which stuck to his hand was cut down by Lord Bhairav due to out spoken nature of that mouth which was insulting Lord Shiva and
CharanPaduka: It is just 3 km away is a beautiful meadow carpeted with wild flowers in the summer. Here is a boulder bearing the footprints of Lord Vishnu.
An advanced planning is needed for such shivirs where arrangements like accommodation, food, transport facility, tent, hotel, warm blankets etc has to be done much before the due date. All these arrangements are possible from Haridwar only. Thus only those sadhaks who are desperate to get the closeness of SadGurudev in life and who wish to energize each and every pores of their body should participate in this shivir. For best results, sadhana articles for such divine shivirs are energized in the name of the person also considering his father’s name, date and place of birth. So one must share these details while registering for the shivir.
As per government norms, it is mandatory to carry original identity proof along with two photocopies of the same.
First of all consider this fact that no matter how great organizer or disciple you are, you are just a sadhak at this place. Due to this reason only, it is mandatory to get yourself registered along with your entire family to participate in this shivir and to attain all sorts of prosperity in life.
Amritmaya Prapti Sadhana and Karna Pishachini ShatruHanta Diksha will be provided on Akshaya Ekadashi and Vaibhava Dhan Lakshmi Sadhana and Sahastra Chakra Kundalini Jagran Diksha will be provided on Siddhashram Shakti day. These sadhanas and dikshas will be bestowed on holy sites like pious bank of Alaknanda river, Brahma Kapal temple, Ganesha cave etc. Cost of these dikshas and sadhanas along with transport charges, stay and food at Badrinath are included in the registration amount.
It is mandatory to reach Haridwar by 17-May-2017. Night stay is arranged at Narayan temple, near PavanDham, Bhupatwala, Haridwar. Food and stay arrangements will be made for all the registered disciples from 17th May 4:00 pm, to 18-May 4:00 am.
Comfortable buses will depart from Haridwar at 4:00 am on 18-May. Food will be provided at Ratura near Rudra Prayag.
Disciples reaching Haridwar after 4:00 am on 18th May would not be able to reach Badrinath the same day, in that case the disciples will have to arrange their night stay on their own and they would reach Badrinath the next day.
Sisters, daughters and mothers must not travel alone. Person suffering from asthma, heart or any other critical disease must not attend this shivir. Also, the person must take complete ownership of his or her belongings.
Sadhaks can participate in MahaMrityunjaya Rudrabhishek for getting free from untimely deaths or deadly diseases or to get initiated in Durgati Nashak Saubhaagya Pradayak Nikshi Shakti and Shiv Gauri Narayan Diksha to eradicate misfortunes from life. Sadhak can also participate in offerings into holy fire or get inscription done on your tongue by Gurudev. A separate nominal charges has to be borne by the sadhak for participating in these activities.
Each registered person will be provided a bed in dormitory.
Buses will leave back to Haridwar on 22-May sharp at 5:00 am. Further arrangements from Haridwar has to be done by individuals themselves.
Personally deposit the registration amount at Kailash Siddhashram, Jodhpur or Gurudham Delhi. Person can also send a draft or do online transfers. Registration amount is Rs.11,000/- (Eleven Thousand only) per person.
