Veer means very strong in hindi. In the world of tantra however veer has an entirely different meaning. It is one of the forms assumed by the divine beings called Yakshas. Ghosts and spirits remain eager to serve Yakshas. Yakshas are none other than cursed Gods who are born in an inferior state. In the form of Yakshas these Gods remain eager to help out Sadhaks so that by this good deed they could be reborn as Gods. In the world of Sadhanas this is one of the most important rituals. In the field of tantra every disciple wishes that his Guru could make him succeed in this Sadhana.
Veer is a being who is very powerful and if won over it could achieve even the most impossible tasks for the Sadhak.
Many have heard of Veer Vikramaditya who had mastered the Veer Sadhana. The Veer always used to remain in his control and eager to obey him. Whenever Vikramaditya issued some command the Veer would accomplish the task in no time. With the help of the Veer, Vikramaditya had defeated all his enemies and once when a neighbour king attacked without warning he destroyed the entire army with the help of the Veer. It was due to the powers of the veer that Vikramaditya became so rich and famous.
Lord Hanuman had also accomplished Veer Sadhana. This is why he is also called Mahaveer Hanuman. With the help of Veer he could fly over the ocean and reach Lanka. It was with the help of Veer that he could destroy the whole of Lanka and burn it. It was with the help of the Veer that he could pick up huge mountains and throw them in to the air like pebbles.
Shankaracharya too had accomplished Veer Sadhana and as a result he was protected round the clock. When he used to pass through jungles the Veer guided him on the right and safe path, and protected him from wild animals. It was with the help of the veer that he could travel on foot throughout India and resurrect the lost Indian Sciences that had become extinct with the advent of Buddhism. He himself accepted that he had accomplished hundreds of Sadhanas but the most important and unique among them was Veer Sadhana.
Guru Gorakhnath was an accomplished master of Veer Sadhana and his disciples felt proud that their Guru had perfected the Veer Sadhana with the help of which he could become supreme in the field of Tantra. Many people tried to kill him but Guru Gorakhnath faced them alone and emerged victorious and unscathed each time.
Just as each wish of one’s life can be fulfilled through Bhoot Sadhana of a spirit similarly through Veer Sadhana all impossible looking tasks can be accomplished. Veer is a being more powerful than a spirit. Veer is also very kind and helping by nature and helps one out in each difficulty of life. He can accomplish even the most impossible tasks ina trice.
This Sadhana has long remain secret and well guarded because no Guru wishes to reveal this Sadhana. It is only in the last moments of his life that an accomplished Guru would give its knowledge to the most devoted disciple and make him perfect in it.
There have been many instances when devoted Sadhaks have perfected this Sadhana in the company of revered Sadgurudev. Some attained to hundred percent success while some got partial success. For the former Veer appeared in person to accomplish the desired task, while for the latter it did the needful in an invisible form. We have received many letters from Sadhaks who claim that in times when they were face to face with the most formidable obstacles, when no solution seemed forthcoming they tried Veer Sadhana and within Seven Days the problem got solved on its own. After the Sadhana they even had the feeling that some invisible force was around guiding them and protecting them.
