Whenever we think of Lord Krishna, an image of a great personality appears before our eyes. A great man with an unparalleled charm, who is tall, dark and handsome and whose personality is even more attractive than that of a very powerful magnet. A person who has a great built, yet who possess a very pleasing smile, a person who is playing flute in His idle time, a person who is a fierce fighter who possess the capability to destroy even the greatest armies of all time, a person who is so loving that who so ever comes in His contact is bound to fall in His love. If we carefully look at all these traits of Lord Krishna, we can find out that all His traits are essential in our daily life.
We need to have a pleasing personality so that everyone gets impressed by us, we must possess the capability to conquer our enemies, we must live a life full of all the comforts and luxuries, we must have a friend like Him in life, we must have the knowledge to live our life in an efficient manner, we must love others and be loved by all. Isn’t it what we seek for in life? Even today, the personality of Lord Krishna is as significant as it used to be some five thousand years ago and will exist even after many thousand years from now.
His traits, His qualities can’t be summed up in few words. Lord Krishna lived a life which was full of challenges right from His time of birth and till the time when He finally completed His life. Each and every moment of His life tells us what a great personality He was. If we look into history, we can find many great personalities who devoted their life just to get a glimpse of Lord Krishna. Few great names among these people are Meera, Rahim, Surdas etc. The simplicity of Lord Krishna is the reason why people feel so attached to Him and treat Him as their revered God.
Lord Krishna always emphasized on Karma, he never preached to leave the household and go to Himalayas and perform meditation. He knew this thing that the greatest yogi is none other than a householder, who is tied with so many relations, yet he travels on this tough path of life with a smile on his face. In spite of having a tough life he prays and thanks God for what all he has in life. A person can easily understand Gita if he can understand Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna mentioned in Gita that, Yatra Yogeshvarah Krishno, Yatra Partho Dhanurdharah. Tatra ShrirVijayo Bhutira, Dhruva NeetirMatir Mama. i.e. where there is Arjuna, Krishna will be there. Where there is Karma in the form of Arjuna, Yogeshawar Krishna exists there, victory, greatness, prosperity and philosophy will remain there.
However, Lord Krishna is not just a symbol of Bhakti. His entire life was based on Karma, He didn’t lay the terms of ideology by saying forgive your enemies, rather He preached that the devils must be treated in that harsh way which they deserve as that’s the only language such people can understand. And due to this reason only people find Him more closer to their life because He went through all those sufferings of live and emerged successful in whatever task He took in His hand.
Considering these very facts of Lord Krishna, we are presenting below four unfailing Sadhanas of Lord Krishna which should be performed on the pious day of Janmashtami. If a person is unable to perform the sadhana on this day, then he must worship the Lord on that day and perform the Sadhana on any eighth day of dark phase of lunar fortnight or on any moonless night.
