They said, “Hitler, how can we tell about our God to you? He holds bow and arrow in the form of Lord Ram and wears a flute in the form of Lord Krishna.” Hearing this Hitler replied, “No…no….How can this be true! God can have only one form, he can’t have hundreds for forms. He may appear before us in different clothes”. Pointing towards the Muslim priests, Hitler asked, “You explain how Khuda (name by which Muslims refer to God) looks like.”
They replied, “We have already explained that to you, they are different in forms. God may hold a flute in his hand or He can also carry bow and arrows. Durga, Bhawani and there are several other forms also. God can also be in the form of Jagadamba, having eight hands and wearing a sword in her arm.” “No, this can’t be true! You people must explain me about Ram? What is God? What is Khuda? They must be the same as there is only one Brahma”, said Hitler.
When they were unable to satisfy Hitler’s anxiety, he put them behind bars. They were only offered water but no food. When the first day ended, the pundits and maulvis offered their prayers to their Gods. Same happened the next day also, they were again not offered any food but water. However they offered their prayers to their Gods but this time they had same bitterness towards Hitler. They started to think how cruel he was. By the end of the day, they started to skip their prayers. The maulvis just prayed twice only. They discussed among themselves, “We must be offered food now. How will we survive without food? This is ridiculous. This is no way to treat us, we haven’t committed any crime.”
And again, Hitler sent only water for them and they were imprisoned in a dark room. The third day also passed away without a grain. Now they started to shout for food saying we need food first and then only we will talk. What are you doing? Why are we imprisoned here? They were in such a need of food that they even forgot to worship and started uttering ‘chapatti – chapatti’. The pundits forgot Lord Ram and Lord Krishna and the maulvis forgot Allah. When the fourth day passed, their condition became more pathetic. On the fifth day, they could not feel anything else but hunger. Image of chapatti would appear before them the moment they used to close their eyes. Hitler again called them, “Now explain, how the God looks like.”
The pundits replied, “The God is round and bloated just like a chapatti.” The maulvis gave the same explanation of their Khuda. If you are empty stomach and I teach you sadhana, then you will not be able to concentrate in the sadhana. Instead an image of chapatti will keep on reappearing before you. Due to this reason only, first we need to eradicate the poverty from our life by means of sadhanas. Once we are able to eradicate all the shortcomings of our life, then only we can achieve totality in life…….this is necessary because we are living a materialistic life.
If we would have been ascetic, then we might have said that, “O child! All this life is useless. There is no greatness in this life. Come with me, lets move towards the bank of river Ganges.” “O great sage! You are just wearing a loin cloth and a baby girl has just born in my family. Now first I have to look after her and once she grows up, I have to search a groom for her and get her married. You don’t have a daughter, how would you understand this world,” you will say to him. An ascetic doesn’t know this; a man wearing saffron cloths can’t understand the situation when the daughter becomes 24 years old. He can’t understand the tension but you can understand that.
An ascetic can’t understand the hunger. This is because wherever he will stand and give his blessings, people will feed them ghee and various sweets. They are far healthier than us, their face isn’t pale. They have reddish cheeks and our cheeks are all deflated. None of these ascetics are dying out of hunger, all of them are living a healthy life and we are all pale. We are sad and full of tension, they are healthier because they are fed with food free of cost…and we have to put in lots of efforts for the same. Still, we barely survive by all our efforts.
Thus the meaning of sadhana is that what all shortcomings are there in our life…..if you have lots of diseases then no matter how many sadhanas I teach you, you won’t achieve success in it because you won’t be able to accomplish the sadhana. Will you cough or perform the sadhana? If you don’t have a son, still you won’t be able to perform sadhana because a tension is there in your mind. If you have a grown-up daughter, again you won’t be able to concentrate. If the wife quarrels with her husband or the husband quarrels with the wife and even if you sit in a sadhana with closed eyes…..then the wife will start shouting, “I already told you not to go there, you won’t get anything, they don’t teach anything out there. You are uselessly sitting here with closed eyes, are you going to the shop or not, what are you doing….and this will start the quarrel.
Thus it is the duty of the Guru to first solve the problems of his disciple by means of the sadhanas and diksha. If he is able to remove all these hurdles from your life, then only he is Guru, a person just delivering his sermons can’t be a true Guru….that is a means of their living….if I deliver any sermon, you will definitely offer me ten, twenty five, hundred rupees and this way it will amount to thousand or two hundred rupees daily and millions per month. Even a collector doesn’t earn this much. I don’t have to work and you have to go to your shop. I can earn this much by just gossiping with you people. You will come here and will definitely offer some money to me…..however the problem doesn’t get solve like this and such a person is also not a Guru.
Guru is one who can understand your problems. Guru is one who can understand your pain. Guru is one who can relieve you from your miseries, who can teach you the sadhana, who can give you the mantra using which you can eradicate all your pains and shortcomings of your life. You can’t get rid of your problems through your efforts. Had it been possible, you wouldn’t have come to me. If you could get free of all your debts or of your poverty then why would you come to me, then what is the necessity of meeting the Guru? You have already invested forty five years of effort in your life and you have already tried all other means.
You have tried for forty five years and you know that the son doesn’t obey you. No matter how much you try to convince him, he will not obey you. If the son is not studying, then he is not studying. If there are quarrels in between husband and wife, then they are there. If there is some disease then you have taken hundreds of medicine for the ailment but still it is troubling you. Now if the disease is not getting cured by your and doctor’s efforts, then what is the solution for this? The solution is that you should have the correct Guru, one who understands your problems and who himself has achieved totality in life. If he himself is incomplete, then what can he give you? One who himself is desirous of getting five rupees from you, how would he give you completeness in life?
If I expect that you should give me ten rupees, then how come I can make you complete in life? If I am a beggar, then what can I give you? I must myself be successful in the sadhanas. I am saying so because sadhana is the only mean by which we can remove all the problems from our life. The shashatras emphasizes on a single shloka, on one thought processes only –
Poorvai Mataam Poorna Madaiva Tulyam,
Gyaanorvataam Paritam BhavatamSadaiva.
Chintyovameva Bhavatam Paripoorna Poornam,
Poornom Twadaam Bhavata Poorna Madaiva Poornam.
Sadhana is the means by which we can achieve totality in life by chanting the mantras related to various Gods and Goddesses. We can obtain wealth by performing Lakshmi Sadhana and we can become knowledgeable by the sadhana of Goddess Saraswati. We are humans and we can’t achieve totality in life by the help of humans, we need some divine powers for the same.
It is not necessary to be acquainted of the Gods for performing a sadhana. You can chant mantras related to Gods, but Gods aren’t familiar with you also. You offer something to Lord Ram but he is not familiar with you and you even don’t know this. There should be a relationship in between you both, you can dissolve water in water, oil in oil.
You can build up a relationship by the means of sadhanas, both of you will get familiar with each other. Due to this reason only this shloka includes the mantra related to Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Saraswati and Lord Shiva. If you can chant this mantra everyday and with complete devotion, it will definitely reduce the gap in between you and the Gods.
Definitely they are complete and due to this reason only they are called so, they are called Lakshmi, they are called Saraswati, they are called Shiva, Vishunu, Brahma. The reason they are called so is that they possess completeness in whatever core they possess. When the gap will reduce, you will be able to achieve whatever they possess.
We can easily get some thousand rupees from a multi-millionaire. Lakshmi herself is multi millionaire, she is the owner of the entire worldly possessions. We can obtain wealth from her, but only if we can reduce the gap…..and we can do that by the means of sadhanas. Sadhana mean chanting of mantras and mantra chanting means selection of the words which Gods can understand. If I explain you something in Chinese or in some other foreign language for half an hour, you won’t be able to understand even a single word of that.
This is not necessary that the person who was your Guru since your birth may remain your Guru forever. God Dattatreya had twenty four Gurus. Lord Ram had six Gurus, first Vashishta and then Vishwamitra who gave him the knowledge of amour, followed by Garg, Attri, Kanaad and Pulastya. Even Krishna had two Gurus, Sandeepan and Drona. Guru is the one who gives knowledge, from where we can obtain wisdom and from whom we can obtain the mantra, the sadhana. You may continue the worship that you perform, the devotion that you offer but still, after performing it from the last ten years and even after performing this devotion for next twenty years, your problems will not be resolved. That is a different path. The route to Cannaught Place is different and that of Karol Bagh is different. If we want to go to Karol Bagh then we will head towards Karol Bagh route and if we wish to go to Cannaught Place, we have to take an entirely different path. And we can reach to Cannaught Place only if we take the route which goes towards it and then only our problems will get solved.
The second step is to attain the Brahamatatva (to get acquainted to the Brahma) and the third step is to reach the state of true joy in life. And all these steps is possible only through the means of Sadhanas. It was not possible to explain all the minute details of sadhanas in such a short speech. However you can get the beginners level knowledge of sadhans by going through my books. This is possible by living your normal way of life, by performing your daily worship. I could have spoken equally good about the devotion or bhakti as I have said about sadhanas.
I could have delivered my speech on Vedas, Upanishads and on Brahma but you would not have been able to understand that. I deliver my speech on Brahma to highly knowledgeable persons. What is Brahma? What is the significance of Brahma, I could have spoken about that. However I had to tell you what was important for you and I did so. I wish that there should be no deficiencies in your life, both materialistic and non-materialistic. You should be complete in both the dimensions….. you achieve everything in life which is called Dharma. You become so rich that you construct temples and schools.
Due to this reason you should become prosperous, you attain totality, you be blessed with wife, children, relatives, happiness, fame and everything in life…. and when all this will be possible, then you can attain Moksha with peace. However for all this there is a necessity of Guru and due to this reason it is said that:
GururBrahma, GururVishnuh, GururDevo
Maheshwarah; Guruh Sakshaata Parbharma…..
Parbrahma is not visible to us, however if the Guru is a true Guru, then he is Parbrahma and if he is a fraud, then he can’t be Parbrahma. The so called Guru can be decisive, they can be fraud and can also rob you, however they are not true Guru. One who can guide you and show you the right path is the true Guru and I bless you all that may you all get such a Guru in your life. There is a abusive word in Rajasthan, Nigura (meaning someone without a Guru), one who doesn’t have a Guru. Life of such person is considered useless. It’s as offensive as an abuse related to mother! If you don’t have a Guru, who will guide you in your life and also after your death?
I bless that you may meet a true Guru in your life, may you achieve totality in your life so that you become divine and complete. I bless you once again from the depth of my heart.
