A weak person is always surrounded by sufferings and troubles. Such a person finds himself surrounded by troubles even after putting in best efforts. If one problem gets resolved, another problem appears before such a person. Thus, the person’s life remains tormented by continuous arrival of new problems in life. These obstacles, troubles are nothing but enemies of our lives that keeps on ruining our lives.
The same weak person can become powerful and get rid of all the troubles by worshiping Lord Ganesha and performing various sadhanas related to the Lord. Lord Ganpati is the prime Lord and the word Ganpati means lord of everyone. It is mentioned in Ganpatyathavansheersha – Lord Ganpati is the symbol of Omkar, this is the prime reason behind His significance and as a result He is worshiped first amongst all the Gods and Goddesses. As all the mantras start with “OM”, similarly, all t h e w o r s h i p should be started after worshiping Lord Ganpati.
All the Vedic religions have happily accepted this fact and continued to worship Lord Ganpati accordingly.
Compared to other sadhanas, sadhana of Lord Ganpati is considered very simple yet highly effective. If a person is not getting the success in a task even after performing it multiple times or if a sadhak is not getting success in a sadhana even after multiple attempts, then this sadhana is a boon for such a person. Performing this sadhana removes all the hurdles from the path of the person and helps in gaining success. This proves that Ganpati sadhana is equally important for fulfilling both materialistic as well as spiritual desires.
Lord Ganpati is worshiped in the form of Swastik and Pranav, He incarnated in several forms at different times for the benefit of His devotees and is thus known by several names. He is the one who fulfills the wishes of His devotees, He is the Lord of intelligence, He is brilliant like several thousand suns and remains eager to help His devotees.
Various incarnations of Lord Ganpati have been captured in Puranas. He is the God who can fulfill any wish, He can bestow wealth, wisdom, eloquence, health, power and what not on to His devotees. Above all, He remains eager to remove all the hurdles from the life of His devotees. He accomplished tremendous jobs in His various forms. Remembering His names with full devotion, performing His sadhanas and worshiping regularly helps the person get His boons.
As per Linga Puran, once all the Gods gathered and discussed the reason behind their continuous defeat via the demons.
They concluded these demons possess the strong will power t o appease Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma and have gained several boons from them. Thus, they came upto the conclusion that they should also worship Lord Shiva and get blessings from Him.
All the Gods started to worship Lord Shiva and after getting appeased, Lord Shiva appeared before the Gods and asked them for a boon. Brihaspati requested Lord Shiva on behalf of all the Gods, “Dear Lord! You are full of compassion and as a result when appeased by the penance of demons, you blessed them with mighty powers. Those demons now trouble us, they perform atrocity on us and we are suffering a lot. We want a blessing from you that all the demons should face troubles in their desires and as a result can’t trouble the Gods anymore.”
Lord Shiva blessed the Gods with and as a result of the boon, Lord Ganpati was incarnated. Lord Shiva took Lord Ganpati in His arms and said, “Dear son Ganesh! You have incarnated to remove the demons and bless Gods, Brahmans and all those who live a pious life. You should always help those men and women who regularly worship you. O VighnaVinashaka! You will be the lord of all the troubles and as a result will be worshipped in all the three worlds. Without any doubt, you will be worshiped before even worshiping Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu.
Those men who will worship you, chant your mantra will be worshiped by Indra and other Gods. Those who will worship Vishnu, Brahma or Indra without worshiping you will face several troubles in life. O Ganeshwara! You should protect all your devotees of the three worlds.”
Listening these words, Lord Ganpati bowed down in the feet of His father and from that day, Lord Ganpati became the first worshiped God. He became the Lord of all the troubles and those who worship Him gets relieved from all the challenges of life. Truly, one can attain everything in life by worshiping Lord Ganesha. The day of Ganesh Chaturthi is a divine day to get the blessings of the benevolent Lord and to fulfill all the wishes.
